“Zion has been on the cutting edge of transportation many times over the course of its history, from running Utah Parks Company Grand Circle bus tours to expending park funds outside the park to make transportation faster; from boring a tunnel to shorten the distance between it and its sister parks to initiating a shuttle system that became an example for other parks to follow. Come listen to local historian Reuben Wadsworth, author of the St. George News “Days Series,” as he chronicles the park’s fascinating transportation history from the park’s inception to today.”

About the Author: A Southern Utah native who grew up in Bountiful, Utah, Reuben Wadsworth is a national parks, Italy and history aficionado. He is an Aggie through and through, having graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor’s in journalism. While there, he served first as a sportswriter and then as assistant sports editor for The Utah Statesman.

While his day job is a U.S. history teacher at Hurricane Middle School, he just couldn’t leave journalism behind and started as a contributing writer at St. George News in 2013. He holds a Master’s degree in history from UNLV where he wrote his thesis on the history of the Zion National Park shuttle system. He also moonlights as an
