Lizette is a life-long supporter of the arts, from attending her first orchestral concert as a child (Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade) to volunteering at her daughter's elementary school art classes, to supporting museums and galleries wherever she might be. She has enjoyed attending Z-Arts events since moving to Zion Canyon in 2015 and began volunteering as a board member in 2020, first as Vice-President, then as President. Volunteering for Z-Arts has been incredibly enriching in countless ways. I have been actively involved in the Arts Communities in Denver, Saint George, and Springdale for the past 30+ years. When we moved to Springdale, I was pleasantly surprised to learn about Z-Arts and welcomed the opportunity to become the Chair of Visual Arts. After moving to Wilmington, NC my role transitioned to that of Treasurer. In Wilmington, I continue to be involved by volunteering at Cameron Art Museum. Art is in my bones!

I began working for Z-Arts in May 2021 as Administrative Assistant. I am a transplant from Southern California where I grew up, and I began following Z-Arts before I ever knew I would be living in Southern Utah, a dream come true! I have always wanted to be involved in the art community somehow and jumped at this opportunity when I saw the ad in the Z-Arts Constant Contact Newsletter. I love being involved in the creative process!

I am the workshop coordinator as well as the secretary on the board for Z-Arts. I’m excited to be able to bring to you workshops hosted by our local artist as well as some out of town artists. If you would like to teach a workshop here in the canyon, or have recommendations for workshops please reach out to me.

For several years I co-coordinated the community art projects around town. The projects included the large quilt in the community center, the lamppost and gazebo wall mosaic and lastly electric box wraps. I’m excited to be on the board and continue to share art programs with this community.
