Susan is the co-founder of the Thunderbird Foundation For The Arts in Mt. Carmel, Utah.  The Foundation was formed 18 years ago to preserve the home and studio of famed American Artist Maynard Dixon 1875-1946. Susan and her husband Paul have been active dealers in historical American Art in the San Francisco bay area and in Utah. They opened their first gallery in Los Altos, California in the early 1970s and have had galleries in Campbell, California, San Jose, California and Salt Lake City. They currently have the Thunderbird Foundation Gallery in Mt. Carmel, Utah, adjacent to the Maynard Dixon Home and Studio. The couple has specialized in the art of Maynard Dixon and other American Artists of his era, and have promoted current contemporary artists throughout their career as art dealers. She is an artist herself, a gardener and dabbles in interior design, having restored historical homes, including the Dixon Home in Mt. Carmel, Utah and The Hamilton House in Campbell, California. Susan has an extensive knowledge of early American Artists and American Art History. The Binghams have three children and five grandchildren.

Susan’s lecture is part of the three-day Rockville Bridge Plein Air Invitational.  To learn more about the artists and activities, visit http://bridgepleinair.eventbrite.com.
