Metal Embossing Workshop with Camille Annie Rojas

If you enjoyed Camille’s Metal Embossing Gallery Show last May, you will not want to miss Camille’s workshop being offered in October.  This workshop is for people interested in learning how to create beautiful embossed metal plates; Camille will cover traditional techniques as well as her own techniques she has developed and the patina finishes that she uses.

Camille will provide all the materials and required tools for participants to keep. The first session will consist of covering the basics, and Camille will bring several pieces of artwork that the participants can choose from that will be suitable for learning and practicing the different techniques.

For the second session, and depending on how confident each participant feels, they may bring their own artwork or choose from the ones Camille will have available. The second and third sessions will be dedicated to creating as many pieces as participants want to work on since they can also take them home to continue working, if they like.

During the third and longer session, work will conclude on any pending embossing work and participants will then concentrate on the finishing techniques as the finishing will require some drying time. Working on more than one piece at the time will allow the students to keep on working while the patina finishes dry.

The workshop will consist of three sessions — Friday, October 9 – 5 – 9 pm; Friday, October 23 – 5 – 9 pm; and Saturday, October 24 – 9 – 5 pm and will be held at the Canyon Community Center, 126 Lion Boulevard, Springdale.

The charge will be $20 per session or a total of $60 for all three sessions for Z-Arts members.
The charge for non-members will be $25 per session or a total of $75 for all three sessions.
