Jodi has been a visual artist nearly all her life, getting her first professional commission while still in high school!  She stubbornly pursued her ambitions, while taking time to marry, have children and work at the occasional “day job”.  She studied first at Utah State University in studio art and art history, and then had the opportunity to go to France to study as well.  She moved there for several years, and while there she got her real start in her art career, doing private and commercial art for individuals and businesses.  This enabled her to build a decent portfolio so that when she returned to the states, she more readily was able to secure commissions.

She spent eight years in Las Vegas during which time she painted many murals in Las Vegas casinos such as Mandalay Bay, the Monte Carlo, and the Aladdin.  She was spotlighted two years in a row by “Exclusively Las Vegas” magazine, and was featured in various publications there.  She also painted in many homes of the “rich and famous” and enjoyed a good measure of success there.  But she missed Utah, and the quality of life it has to offer, so she settled in St. George, where she has a family, and more recently in Rockville.

While in southern Utah, she has been involved as an artist and muralist in many homes during the annual St. George Area Parade of homes, most recently the home of Marie Osmond.  She served the city of St. George as a member of the Arts Commission, and also served as President of the Visual Arts Association.  (Now known as the Southern Utah Art Guild.)  She is now serving on the board of Z-Arts as the Visual Arts chairperson.  Jodi recently began entering art competitions and shows and has recently won “Paint Out”, “People’s Choice” and “Best of Show” to name a few.
