Chamber Music Artistic Director: Jason Bonham

Jennifer Grim, Flute: Grim has performed at Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall, for a sold-out New York debut concert of the award-winning contemporary ensemble Proteus, of which she was a founding member, as well as making an appearance at Lincoln Center presented by Great Performances. A native of Berkeley, California, Grim holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University and Masters and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from Yale University. She is currently Associate Professor of Music at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and recently was awarded an Artist Fellowship from the Nevada Arts Council.

Taras Krysa, Violin: As a violinist, Taras Krysa has won positions with the New World Symphony orchestra and St. Louis Symphony Orchestras. In recent seasons, his conducting appearances have included National Ukrainian Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra van het Osten, New World Symphony, St. Petersburg Symphony, Moscow Soloists, Slovak Sinfonietta, Spoleto Festival Chamber Orchestra, Kiev Chamber Orchestra and the Lublin Philharmonic Orchestra. Krysa serves as the director of orchestras at UNLV and music director of the Henderson Symphony Orchestra. Born in Kiev, Ukraine to a musical family he began his formal studies as a violinist at the Moscow Conservatory. After moving to United States, Krysa continued his studies at Indiana University and Northwestern University both in violin and conducting.

Jason Bonham, Viola: Jason Bonham, known as a recitalist, chamber musician, orchestral musician and educator, currently is the Principal Violist with Las Vegas Philharmonic and Viola Faculty member at UNLV. He has been a performer with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Elgin Symphony Orchestra, the Fort Wayne Philharmonic and Ars Viva Symphony Orchestra. As a chamber musician, he is a founding member of Virtuosi West and has performed with members of the Emerson Quartet, Boston Chamber Society, Chicago Pro Musica, The New Russian Trio, The Beethoven Quartet, Cavatina Trio, and Fry Street Quartet. He is on faculty at Nevada School of the Arts. Currently he teaches viola at University of Nevada, Las Vegas and in the past has been a faculty member at Brigham Young University and Dixie State University.

Andrew Smith, Violincello: Cellist Andrew Smith is an associate professor of music at UNLV, where he performs regularly as a member of The Cerberus Trio. He is also a founding member of The Adriatic Chamber Music Festival, a summer music program in southern Italy, where he has taught and performed since its inception in 1998. For two years he was principal cellist with the West Virginia Symphony, where he was in residence with the Montani String Quartet. Smith has a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he was a member of the Young Artists String Quartet. He also holds a master’s degree from The Mannes College of Music in New York, and a Bachelor of Music degree from the Hartt College of Music in Hartford, CT.
