“Embossed Metal” Gallery Show

Z-Arts presents, “Embossed Plates” featuring artist Camille Rojas. Opening April 28th at the Canyon Cembossed-metalommunity Center, the exhibit features the ancient art of embossed plates.

Camille Rojas is a Chilean born self-taught artist, a rebel painter and sculptor who likes to improvise and innovate rather than following a specific school or technique which may influence her freedom of expressing herself as an artist.

She worked over 20 years in Las Vegas creating original sculptures for the casinos and started working on embossing metal after a visit to a dear friend in Mexico who is also an embossing metal artist and was captivated by the bas-relief unlimited possibilities of this ancient art.

“I find inspiration for my work on having the opportunity to produce fine art using very low cost materials as well as transforming a cold material such as the metal in a warm piece of art. I also love the fact that I can work and master a very old technique and revolutionize it into something completely new and modern out of the established patterns of society. It is my deep desire to teach and pass on this technique to anyone interested in this ancient art.”
